🇸🇴 Digaag Kumbe, a Somali delish!🇸🇴

While browsing the website bonapettit.com, I came across a Somali recipe, the Digaag Kumbe (Chicken Stew with Yogurt and Coconut). The name intrigued me so I decided to try this flavorful dish. But, as I like to know the origins of everything, I encourage you to watch Hawa Hassan giving an introduction of spice trade’s influence on food in eastern Africa (Tanzania, Zanzibar, Madagascar), as well as the souvenirs she gets from her childhood by making this recipe: this is simply inspiring!

Here is what I came out after cooking for 2 hours…

Hawa also introduced to a series of Somali sauces called Basbaas (chili in Somali)
